Giving back to community is a fundamental tenant of Global Sojourns Giving Circle. Members of Girls Time in Victoria Falls more than met that expectation in March when they gave back to the GSGC family.

At school, they sang Happy Birthday to GSGC Treasurer Heidi Johnson Bixby while Smokey Dube, GSGC’s program support and communications expert in Africa, recorded it, then emailed it to her to mark the milestone.

A few days later, Auntie Procedure Mhlanga and four girls spent more than two hours with Smokey as they worked to perfect their rendition of the hymn “He Leadeth Me,” which was played at Roberta Plummer’s memorial service in early April. The hymn dates to 1860s Philadelphia.

Thank you (l to r) Nokukhanya, Praise, Gracious and Mariah – and Auntie Procedure – for sharing your time and talent across the globe. Thank you, Smokey, for making it all possible.
